My own past was rife with mistakes, misery, and misuse of time. I hurt people, hurt myself, and hurt my chances of ever getting to make things right.
Today, because of God's grace in the form of life-saving Narcan administrations, I am able to try and help rather than harm—able to live up to my name's meaning ("Helper to/defender of humanity/life") rather than live down to the depths of addiction.
Please, help me honor the victims of my former illness by giving others a chance to heal, as well.
I'm Alexander Madore, founder of A.X.M. A.I. Services LLC. I survived several medical emergencies. By God's grace, and through the people and Narcan administrations that kept me alive, I have now reached five years of sobriety. PHORCYS grows from knowing personally what another chance can mean.
In its May 2026 provisional estimate, the CDC reported nearly 70,000 U.S. drug overdose deaths in 2025—about 192 people every day, roughly the population of Portland, Maine, over the course of a year. That number does not include the many people who survived because someone intervened. Each successful intervention preserves the possibility of a future.

At Bolduc Correctional Facility, I wrote the pilot proposal and helped develop and launch, with Dr. Martin Nisser, a robotics fabrication program that is the first of its kind in the world: college-certified instruction inside a correctional facility, taught by MIT-affiliated and other teaching assistants, spanning the complete process of design, engineering, electronics, firmware, and 3D printing, including 3D printing certifications.
I also created and taught Rebuilding Through Résumés, a résumé-writing class at Bolduc designed to help others communicate their abilities and prepare for employment.
My own education spans a variety of sources from an MIT coding program certification, Multi-Language Software and Web Development Program certification from Code Your Dreams, a one-year MDOL career-training program, current bachelor's degree studies with University of Maine at Augusta (focusing on Computer Science and Business Management), and many more educational experiences (autodidactic, job-training, one-on-one tutoring and mentorship to name a few).
I work with a Small Business Association SCORE mentor team and have personal and professional relationships with a number of both industry-specific (tech space) and more general (recovery, business, financial, et al) contacts.
Networking and asking questions is how I learn. Application is how I grow. I hope and strive to be a life-long learner. This is a vast and ever-changing world with new opportunities for personal growth every day. Surviving all of the close-calls that I have, I gratefully embrace the chance to try and do just that.
I thank God for His choosing me to receive this inspiration, motivation, courage (I risk failure and embarrassment in the public eye, every day), many necessary skills for stewarding, and strength to continue.
There can be education, service, invention, restored relationships, and years of contribution on the other side of an intervention. I am building PHORCYS because more people deserve the opportunity to discover what their next chapter can hold.
